We are delighted to bring you the details of The Brun Bear Foundation's Annual Golf Day.
 
On Friday, 19th September 2025, The Brun Bear Foundation is hosting this special event at the stunning Nizels Golf & Country Club in Kent. This day promises to combine excellent golf, exceptional hospitality, and valuable business opportunities, all while importantly fundraising for The Brun Bear Foundation's vital causes.
 
What Makes This Event Special?
 
While many golf enthusiasts have participated in a golf day, few can say they’ve enjoyed an event that combines such exceptional hospitality with significant networking opportunities. Our day offers a unique experience, including an exclusive rum tasting session and a three-course dinner featuring recipes from our charity cookbook "Mealtimes With My Maritime Friends". It's a perfect opportunity to strengthen existing business relations and spark new collaborations.
 
The Course / The Golf

We’ve chosen one of the finest venues in the South East, Nizels Golf & Country Club, which is perfectly positioned just 30 miles from Central London, yet feels like a world away in the beautiful Kent countryside. Established in 1992, Nizels boasts an 18-hole, par 72 championship course stretching 6,361 yards. The course weaves through mature woodland and rolling parkland, and is renowned for its beautifully manicured fairways, strategic bunkering, and large, fast greens. It provides a rewarding challenge for golfers of all abilities, with a mix of dog-leg par 4s, sweeping par 5s, and scenic par 3s, ensuring every round is both varied and memorable.
 
More Than Just Golf
 
Nizels is much more than exceptional golf. The club features state-of-the-art facilities including a health and fitness centre, stunning swimming pool, and the luxurious Aura Spa. Set in an area of outstanding natural beauty, guests can also enjoy leisurely walks around the course and surrounding countryside. This accessibility from London makes it the perfect escape from the city without a lengthy journey. What truly makes this day special is the opportunity to enjoy wonderful company and networking while making a real difference. The day includes both silent and live auctions, with some fantastic lots already secured, and our rum tasting session promises to be both educational and thoroughly enjoyable.
 
Supporting The Brun Bear Foundation
 
This event directly supports The Brun Bear Foundation, which was founded in 2014 by Edwin Lampert. The Foundation honours his father's memory and values, stemming from a promise Edwin made to look after "kindly bears" Brunhilfer and Brunfin. Staffed entirely by volunteers, the Foundation tirelessly supports new and existing causes and projects while upholding an inclusive ethos and vision.

Since its inception, The Brun Bear Foundation has raised and donated thousands of pounds to numerous projects and causes across three key areas:
 
Medical Research: This includes funding research into better and kinder treatments for children with Leukaemia, purchasing an incubator for a hospital in Uganda, supplying over 8,000 Wellbeing Wallets for expectant mothers at Lewisham Hospital and Princess Royal, and supporting early pregnancy information evenings and maternity education for mothers and midwives.
 
Community Projects: Locally, The Brun Bear Foundation has provided funding for a Community Fit Bus, delivered health and wellbeing events, funded theatre experiences for every child under five in Lewisham, supported the beautification of parks, play areas, and communal spaces in Lewisham and Bromley, delivered children’s book readings, and offered work experience and mentoring to local students.
 
Animal Welfare (with a special emphasis on bears)Contributions include the provision of food and medical supplies for bears, CCTV at sanctuaries to protect bears from poachers, purchasing a Centrifuge for the China Bear Rescue Centre in Chengdu, and co-founding The Wild Bear Award, which supports the use of technology in bear conservation.
 
The Foundation also offers The Simon Shades Award Programme, an annual, merit-based competition supporting talented students through project-based experiences. You will hear brief words from The Brun Bear Foundation during the evening programme.

The Golf Competition
 
Teams of four will compete, aiming to accumulate the highest team points total by the end of play. The best two scores from each group will count on each hole, rather than a combined total of all four players. There will also be nearest-the-pin and longest-drive challenges along the way.

Golf Day Package (£185): Includes coffee & bacon muffins, 18 holes of championship golf, the exclusive rum tasting, three-course international dinner, and access to all auction activities.
 
Dinner Only Package (£65): A limited number of tickets are available for non-golfers, granting access to the networking opportunities, the rum tasting, evening meal, and auction.
