The Brun Bear Foundation is a grant making charity that supports community enrichment in South East London, medical innovation for children worldwide, and the protection of bears and wildlife.

Our dynamic grant-making charity is seeking a new trustee to join our team.

We welcome applications from candidates who have one, some, or all of the following skill sets:

  • Trustee experience

  • Grant-making application skills and/or advanced knowledge of charity regulation

  • Experience scaling up businesses

  • Advanced IT skills

  • Marketing and communications expertise

  • Commitment to the charity's values and mission

  • Knowledge of sustainable and ethical practices

Our charity supports projects of communal value, medical research and innovation that benefits infants and children globally, and animal welfare with a special emphasis on bears.

We have four fundraising streams - children's books and education, community and cultural events, supper clubs and pop-up restaurants, and epic adventures. We also fund scholarships, bursaries, and awards across the categories of case we support.

Recently, we have established a wholly-owned and separate trading subsidiary that generates income for the charity through the sale of products and services in line with our values and commitment to sustainable and ethical practices. All profits from our trading activities are donated to the charity on an annual basis.

As a trustee you will have a major impact through shaping strategy, leveraging expertise, and promoting a growing charity making change across multiple fronts.
